Preparing for the Camino

A friend just helped me create this blog...thanks Dana... so Im getting use to using it and posting articles.
Many of you know that I begin a three month sabbatical on July 1st.  The first part of my sabbatical will be visiting my brother Stan and his wife Rose in Florida.  I leave on July 2nd and will be with them a little over three weeks.  My brother is back on chemo every three weeks, but he seems to be doing well with the treatment.  My niece and her family are coming to visit them while I am there, so the family will be together.  I will be posting while I am visiting my brother so please log in.  I return to the Bay Area for about two weeks and then I leave to walk 500 miles on the Camino de Santiago.
People have been making pilgrimage on the Camino for over a thousand years as they travel to Santiago where the remains of St. James, the Apostle of Jesus, are enshrined.  The Camino, the Way, is a spiritual journey to encounter the presence God.  I enter this experience with an open heart.  God continues to lead me into life along the buen camino, the good way, through every experience encountered.
